Overview

Camera systems built around your property's actual sightlines

Cameras dropped in generic spots rarely capture what you actually need — a car pulling into a driveway, a face at a cash register, a license plate at a gate. We design layouts around your entrances, parking areas, loading docks, cash-handling zones, and any blind spots the property already has, then choose the camera type and resolution that job actually calls for.

Most of the systems we install today run on a locally-managed camera platform — a single application for every camera on the property, with no per-camera monthly fee for local storage. It's a different ecosystem than the Alarm.com app we use for alarm and monitoring, so for most installs your cameras live in their own dedicated, full-featured app rather than being folded into a third-party monitoring platform.

  • Camera placement mapped to your property's real problem areas
  • Resolution and lens choice matched to the distance being covered
  • Storage plan sized to how long you actually need to keep footage

Camera Types

The right form factor for the job

Bullet cameras

Long, cylindrical outdoor cameras with a visible presence — often chosen specifically as a visual deterrent for driveways and perimeters.

Dome cameras

Low-profile, vandal-resistant domes that hide the direction the lens is pointed — a common choice for retail interiors and lobbies.

Turret cameras

A ball-and-socket style camera that resists the IR reflection issues domes can have behind a dome cover — good for close-range night coverage.

PTZ cameras

Pan-tilt-zoom cameras that can be steered remotely or set to auto-patrol — suited to large open areas like parking lots and industrial yards.

Resolution Guide

How much detail actually matters, by distance

Higher resolution isn't automatically "better" — it also means more storage per camera. We help you match resolution to what each camera is actually watching.

Resolution tierGood forStorage impact
2MP (1080p)General coverage, short-range areas, budget-conscious installsLowest
4MPEntrances, mid-range areas where faces need to be identifiableModerate
8MP (4K)Large open areas, parking lots, license-plate capture, digital zoom after the factHighest

General guidance only — actual detail also depends on lens choice, lighting, and distance to subject. We'll recommend specifics for your property during the walkthrough.

Smart Detection & Custom Alarms

Cameras that tell you what matters, not just that something moved

Detection isn't a single generic "motion alert" — you build the specific rules that make sense for each camera, and the system does the filtering before it ever pings your phone.

AI smart detections

Built-in recognition for people, vehicles, and animals, with license plate recognition and package detection available on supported cameras — so a passing car doesn't get treated the same as a person walking up to your door.

Custom detection zones

Draw the exact area each camera should watch — include your driveway, exclude the public sidewalk and road, and set different zones for different detection types on the same camera.

Custom alarms & automations

Build your own trigger-and-response rules across your connected devices: a person detected at the back door after hours can sound a chime, switch on a floodlight, and push a notification to your phone — all without a monitoring contract. We help design the rule set around how you actually want to be alerted.

Doorbell & two-way talk

Video doorbells and select cameras support two-way audio, so you can speak to a visitor or delivery driver directly from the app, plus quick-reply and pre-recorded message options.

License plate recognition

Available on supported cameras for gated entrances and parking lots — capture and log plates on vehicles entering or leaving, and trigger alerts on specific plates.

Recording & Storage

Where footage lives

Local recording, no per-camera subscription

Footage is stored locally on a recording console sized to your camera count and desired retention, with no recurring per-camera fee for local storage — a meaningful, ongoing cost difference from subscription-based camera systems.

Optional cloud backup

Critical clips can also be backed up off-site, so key footage survives even if the on-site recorder is damaged, stolen, or fails.

Night vision & low-light

Standard infrared for clear black-and-white footage after dark, or color low-light sensors that keep color detail visible in near-darkness where identifying clothing or vehicle color matters.

Audio detection

Built-in audio detection can recognize specific sounds — including a smoke detector or fire alarm sounding — and send you an alert. It's a helpful extra layer of awareness, not a substitute for a monitored fire alarm system.

How It Integrates

One ecosystem, not a bolted-on connection

Because we install our camera and access control lines as a matched pair, they share the same console and app natively — this is a manufacturer-level integration, not a third-party platform stitching two separate products together.

Gates

With access control

Every badge swipe can pull the matching camera clip, sometimes called "video badging" — so you have visual confirmation of who actually used a credential, not just which credential was used.

With gate systems

See who's requesting entry at the gate before you buzz them in, and log video of every vehicle that comes onto the property.

Note: this native integration is specific to matched equipment from the same manufacturer. Cameras are generally a separate system from Alarm.com-based alarm monitoring — ask us which setup fits your property.

Our Process

From walkthrough to a live system

1

Assess

Walk the property to identify blind spots and priority areas.

2

Design

Camera types, placement, and storage plan mapped out before install.

3

Install

Clean cabling and mounting, plus a full walkthrough of the app.

4

Support

Ongoing service if a camera needs adjusting, replacing, or adding.

FAQs

Camera system questions

Retention depends on your storage plan — local NVR storage is typically sized for a set number of days based on camera count and resolution, and cloud plans vary by provider tier. We'll size this to your needs during design.
Live viewing and clip playback use data like streaming video, more for higher resolutions. Most users check in periodically rather than leaving a live feed running continuously, which keeps data use modest on Wi-Fi or cellular.
Both are options. Wired PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras are generally more reliable and don't rely on batteries, while wireless/battery cameras are useful where running cable isn't practical, such as a detached structure.
On the camera platforms we install, local recording, AI smart detections, and custom alarm/automation rules are included with the hardware — no required monthly subscription. Optional cloud backup is available if you want an added layer of off-site storage.
Your footage is yours. You can export clips for insurance claims, law enforcement requests, or your own records directly from the app or local recorder.
