Overview

Hardware and keying, handled locally

Locks are the most basic layer of security, and they're easy to overlook until one fails or a key ends up in the wrong hands. Our locksmith services cover everything from rekeying a single door after a move-in to designing a master key system for a multi-tenant building.

Because we also install alarm and access control systems, we can recommend when a mechanical lock upgrade makes sense versus when it's time to move to electronic access control — and we're happy to explain the tradeoffs plainly rather than upsell you into more than you need.

  • Same-day rekeying available for most standard hardware
  • Honest guidance on mechanical vs. electronic access
  • Master key systems designed to scale as a building grows

Lock Grades & Hardware

Matching hardware to how hard a door gets used

GradeTypical useWhat it means
Grade 1Commercial entries, high-traffic doorsHighest durability rating, built for heavy daily use
Grade 2Light-commercial & higher-end residentialStrong mid-tier durability for moderate use
Grade 3Standard residential doorsSuited to typical home usage levels

Grading standards and exact ratings are set by ANSI/BHMA — we'll confirm current specifics for your hardware selection, and always verify code-required hardware (like panic bars on commercial fire-egress doors) with your local fire marshal.

High-security cylinders

Restricted keyways and anti-pick, anti-bump construction — keys can't be duplicated at a standard hardware store.

Panic & fire-rated hardware

Push-bar exit hardware for commercial doors that need to allow immediate exit, sized to your door's fire rating and code requirements.

Door closers & hinges

Commercial-grade closers and hinges that keep heavy-use doors closing properly and securely over time.

Master Keying

One key for you, limited keys for everyone else

A master key system lets a building manager or owner open every door with one key, while individual tenants, employees, or departments only have keys to their own areas. It's common in apartment buildings, multi-tenant offices, and any business with different access levels for different roles.

  • Managers/owners hold a master key for all doors
  • Staff or tenants hold change keys limited to their own area
  • Systems designed with room to add doors later without a full re-key

How It Integrates

Sometimes the next step is electronic

Access Control
Gates

Rekeying and master-key systems solve a lot of problems on their own, but when a business needs instant credential revocation, entry logging, or many doors managed remotely, that's usually the point where electronic access control becomes worth the conversation. We'll tell you plainly if that's the case rather than push it before you need it.

FAQs

Locksmith questions

If the hardware is in good condition, rekeying is usually faster and less expensive than full replacement. We'll recommend replacement instead when hardware is worn, damaged, or you want to upgrade to a higher security grade.
A lost change key typically only affects its own area and can be addressed by rekeying that specific lock. A lost master key is more serious and may call for rekeying more broadly — we'll walk you through the right response if it happens.
Yes — call our main line and we'll get a technician out to help you get back in.
